“It’s not what you wear, but how you wear it.”
There’s nothing better than a wear-it-everywhere, do-it-all-by-yourself, throw-on-and-dress-it especially in this hottest dregs of summer. I am always on the hunt for dress pieces than can be styled in various ways for looks that are promised to be fun, fresh and unique to my own personal style. Many a times we spend hours thinking that we wore this several times. Therefore, to elevate a single look I have come across many styles to put on for various occasions whether it is a pencil skirt, a pair of amazing fitted trousers or even a fun dress, and re-purposing them.
So, I have a “shirt-dress” in my closet, if you happen to have this type of piece go ahead and follow this styles, if not then it’s a dress to add-on to your closet. Here, I will be telling you miscellaneous ways to style a shirt-dress and so forth.
FIRST LOOK: Party or Girls Night Out
In the first look, I styled them simply. Pairing this check-shirt-dress with jeans/jeggings. Tight that dress with a cool belt or a skinny scarf according to your dress color. I wore a silver sparkling earring, watch to give a party look and heeled booties, like this. Finishing the look with a bold chocolate lipstick.

SECOND LOOK: Weekend Chic or Shopping Day Out
Everyone’s going crazy with nude color pallets lately. It’s very subtle yet elegant and classy on all skin tones when done perfectly. Here, I paired a nude top with my black jeans/jeggings and layered up my shirt-dress. A texture beige clutch or plain nude bag adds a nice touch of mixed-print personality and class! Keep jewelry light, wear comfortable heels or wedge and don’t forget to add a little mystery with sophisticated sunnies.

THIRD LOOK: Pretty Preppy or A Date
This can be worn two ways. Either as top and pencil skirt or as a faux dress. So again, I’ve topped it off with a shirt-dress button-up. Tie a knot with a skinny scarf or allow it to fall effortlessly off your shoulder when flirting to bring out the drama in this dress. Add heels and clutch for an easy on-the-go look that’s as stylish as it is functional. Lastly, let slicked hair do the talking.

FOURTH LOOK: Casual day with friends
This cute check-shirt and high ponytail are a great way to bring out the playful aspect of this dress. Throw on some bracelet, and, in this case, any matching shoe will do, from sandals to sneaker to a wedge. I chose white sneakers to highlight the latest trend in market. Avoid girly, juvenile touches.

FIFTH LOOK: A Day at Office
Dressing this up for work is simple. For a clean look, just add a sophisticated skinny scarf as tie or a bow to camouflage the casualness of a collar. Tuck in your shirt-dress, an open-toe heel and simple jewelry for instant office-ready polish. Don’t forget to add your hot spectacles to finish off this look.

I hope these looks helped you and made your life a bit simple 😉
